For Memorial Day Events, check http://www.philly.com

My favorite Italian restaurant is Ralph's, which is the oldest family
owned Italian restaurant in the country. Ralph's is on 9th Street
between Catherine and Christian Streets in South Philadelphia. You
should probably call for a reservation though.

There was a time I took an Italian friend of mine from Italy
to eat at Ralph's. His commnent is Ralph's Italian food is
just OK. It does not belong to the delicate type now current
in Italy.

Ralph's doesn't claim to serve authentic Italian food; the cuisine there
is Italian-American which tends to be heavy red sauces, lots of meat,
which is not what's common in Italy.

Langostino's, 100 Morris St., 215-551-7709.

Check out this site as well :

Tre Scalini I know is pretty good. Vetri is hard to get into, and
expensive, but worth every penny.

Lamberti's in Cherry Hill, NJ is also good. But it is
more towards the comtemporary italian cuisine, somewhat
like a fusion type of cooking. If you are looking for
a traditional italian fare, you may be in for a
disappointment.
