Years ago there was a company called Borden that made a lot
of diary products with a famous logo "Elsie the Cow". Today that
name only appears on some cheese and apparently the company itself
is gone.

Likewise, they used to make Elmer's Glue (Elmer the steer, mate
of Elsie), but they're gone too.
Would anyone know what happened to the company?

Borden is still in business. A google search for "Borden dairy" turned
up several hits, including http://www.elsie.com/HOMEPAGE/borden.html

Elmer's glue is still on the shelves. I use it regularly.
The label lists the address in Columbus OH

The product is still around, but the original company that
made it is not.

There are many consumer products no longer made by the original
company. The brand is sold and resold.

Sometimes the back of a product indicates the parent corporation.

In any event, Elmer's Glue was once made by the Borden Co. which
appears to no longer exist as a separate company.

Borden does not appear to be in business.

The webpage cited indicates the Borden trademark was acquired
in 1997 by the dairy farmer's.

Further, Borden's now is only a trademark for some American
cheese. At one time they had a whole line of dairy products.
They were a much bigger presence.
