We are having a gathering (at least 12 people) near Philadelphia
International Airport, but it must be close to the airport. Does anyone
know how the restaurant in the Airport Marriott is? Any other options
that are close?

There is a diner ("Philly Diner"?) along the
motel row near the Holiday Inn and Motel
6, I think I have seen a sign indicating
"banquet rooms". The ambiance can best
be described as "proletarian." It is quite
popular with biker groups. At one time
the food was pretty good. At some point
the fresh-squeezed orange juice machine
broke down and it was never fixed. I count
a decline from that time. The service is
friendly and the prices (and parking) are
much less than any intra-airport place.

I believe the Philly Diner burned down in the past year. Ditto for nearby
Preston Diner. There's a pretty fair restaurant south of the airport in
Essington, called Lehman's on Wanamaker Avenue, just east of 291.

Go somewhere in South Philadelphia. My god it is less than 10 minutes away.
Why eat near the airport?!??!?!?

Close is a relative term. How close? What price range to you have in
mind? If you want something inexpensive and casual, I believe there's a
Perkins just south of the airport off I95. The airport is also only a
few miles from Center City where you have thousands of restaurants to
chose from.
