If you have not been here, go !! If you have kids, take them
along.... WONDERFUL food served by a lovely family. Among the best
ethnic dining expriences I have had.

Atkins dieters need not apply. Peruvian cuisine includes
potatoes WITH rice WITH beans WITH corn.

They are VERY accomodating, and you could probably just order
steak or chicken or fish, but justTRY to resists the potatoes.

Next to growing coca, it's what Peruvians do best !!

On Garrett Road in Upper Darby. Very close to West Chester Pike
(which is Market St in Philadelphia).

There are a number of south american restaurants which are pretty
good too on the same block Average entree price is about $15..

Our dinner for four (they will make anything in a child's
portion) with three appetizers, two soups and four entrees totaled
$58.00 !! Peruvian canned jiuces like mango, etc. are $1.00 Yuo can
also BYOB.

Anything to report on the Columbian/Cuban/Nicaraguan etc.
place down the street ?? This could be a mecca of cheap ethnic
dining/shopping. Seemd like some Korean markets a few blocks away ..

The MODAL (most frequent) price for house specials is $8.95 for stews
or stir-fries. Steak dishes, fresh fish etc. MAY top out at $15.00
for weekend specials which tend to be more complex treatments, but
even a mean price would be closer to $11.00 Weekend specials tend
towards things like whole fish, or Sirloin steaks which are higher
food costs.

This is a serious bargain for well-crafted, home-style food.
They have a buffet once per month (call 610.352.1232) to find out
when. That would be a good opportunity to see what dishes you like.

It's a potato-lover's paradise, and very kid-friendly (they
have chix fingers and fries and a hot dog platter, and have ketchup)
but will also accomodate kids with smaller standard platters.
Peruvian food is not really killer spicy, so its a great way to expose
kids to ethnic cuisines. I have to admit, though, I did wait a day
until I told my 9-year-old daughter the kabobs she was happily
gobbling down was beef-heart <g>.
