Looked like the Borgata Seafood restaurant on 3rd St. near Market was
closed down last time I walked by. It had previously been the site of
Blue In Green.

Would like to see a middle-eastern take-out in Old City.

The little corner restaurant on Chestnut., Old City, a few doors down from
Adriatic closed. I will miss the ice cream. It was owned by the same person who
owned Adriatic. Forgot the name.

The Cereal restaurant on U of P campus got a newsblurb on TV. Features cereal
as it's theme. Seems to be doing well.

I agree. I can't imagine what would possess someone to open
up a restaurant based on such a silly concept.

Well lets see.. It's right in the middle of Campus. Kids love cereal.
Campuses are full of kids. Adults love cereal. It's fun. The place is
jammed every time I walk by. It would shock me if this is not a success.

I agree, it should be successful. Operating costs should be low. I know my
kids would gladly eat cereal for dinner

A fad that will last 4 months. kids aren't paying big bucks to eat cereal.
College kids would rather pay 2.39 for a box of cereal rather than $15 for
the same meal---

Maybe once for the novelty, but that is it.

i suspect you're underestimating both the amount of money that many
students at penn have, and their laziness when it comes to buying
cereal and making sure they have fresh milk in their fridges.

Maybe. Keep in mind that these kids are mostly Penn students not
community college students. While I'm sure not all of them come from
affluent families, most do. One look at the wardrobes on these kids
while walking through campus tells me that 4.00 for cereal is not a big
deal.

And for some perspective on ridiculous pricing, and why it doesnt
matter if you have a product that people want, simply look at Starbucks.
The Starbucks at 34th and Walnut which is only 2 blocks from the cereal
restaurant seldom has less than 10 people in line to pay 4.00 for a cup
of coffee.
