Anyone have breakfast restaurant recommendations for early Sunday
morning? 7.30 or 8 am. Location around convention center is ideal,
within short walk from the Wyndham Franklin Plaza, but would prefer
something other than the expensive brunch buffets at any of the
hotels. Favorite place (Down Home Diner) is closed Sunday. Bummer,
something for everybody there at good price.

Closest thing I found was the brunch at Jones at 7th & Chestnut, but
it starts too late for my group. Any other suggestions? Anything
around the area where the rehabs are happening near 13th & Chestnut?
Or someplace tucked away up near Cherry St.?

Little Pete's is a possibility--thanks. I think that'll be the back up
plan. Hoping for juuuust a little closer to the Wyndham or conv.
center. There are 12 of us, ranging in age from 76 to 5. Some can't do
much walking, some won't be comfortable in a small booth.

See, that LP's wouldn't work for you anyway--12 people wouldn't fit in
there anyway. I mean, you'd have to sit in three or four separate
booths and all.

There is a St George(Diner) right on Race, between Broad & 15th.
It used to open 24 hrs. I don't know the situation now.

Not sure when they open, but it's early: the 10th STreet Pour House does
a good breakfast. YOu'd have to push some tables together, though.
They're on 10th (obviously) between Spruce & Locust.
It's a real shame Where Else? burnt down; they did a great breakfast.

How about the Sunday Brekfast Association.

Prices are very reasonable, but you have
to repent your sins.

Geez, if I went it'd be dinnertime by then.

Thanks to all who offered suggestions. In the end, our group met at
The Corner Bakery, which is connected to the Maggiano restaurant. The
location we used was at 12th & Filbert, though I believe they have
another near 16th & JFK. The Maggiano/Corner Bakery chain seems to be
relatively new to downtown Phila, though I believe they've had a
location in the suburbs for some time.

It was a little awkward getting enough seats together, and the
self-serve line didn't always move smoothly, but the fare was
reasonably good, with something to please everyone there, and it was
inexpensive, clean and cheerful.
Thanks!
