This weekend I'm visiting someone in Chestnut Hill who's unable to
leave her house. I want to bring bagels and lox to her for breakfast.
I'm staying at the Chestnut Hill Hotel on Germantown Ave. Where in
that general can I get bagels and lox to go?
Many thanks.

The Super Fresh supermarket on Mermaid Lane (about a mile from
Germantown Ave.) will have the fixings for bagel and lox sandwiches.
Don't forget the onion and tomato! Mermaid Lane meets Germantown Avenue
right by where the TLA Video store is located.

The staff at the Chestnut Hill Hotel might also have a better
suggestion. My knowledge of that area is a bit weak as I only know it
because my sister lives near that Super Fresh.

Right behind the Chestnut Hill Hotel is the Chestnut Hill Farmers
Market. THAT'S the place. The only thing is I'm not sure if they're open
Sundays. After you check in today, go there and look around.

No Sunday hours at the farmers' market--just Th-Sa.

The SuperFresh is not a bad idea if you want to stay close and mass market.
Even closer is:

Caruso's Market
8422 Germantown Avenue
Philadelphia, PA 19118
Tel: 215-247-4134

I don't shop there much, it's not big, but I would expect it'd have all you
need.
